Lookin up!

Well, things are actually starting to look up for us because we found 2 really great houses in Texas City for rent! So great, that I am even taking off of work to go see them tomorrow afternoon. Everything about them is perfect, I just feel uneasy about not actually going and checking it and the neighborhood out before we put the deposit down. But, the pictures and the location are both really great : ). And they both have nice fenced in yards for my sweet baby to play in lol. I am just sooooo ready to actually know where we are going to be staying! It would take a lot of worry off of my back so I would just have to pack. Which I hate, by the way.

Here is a picture of one of them! So cute, huh! :)

Well, I'm sure you are tired of hearing about my current situation, so I guess I will tell you about my wonderful Sunday. I got to sleep in (until around 11! That never happens), and the we just hung around the house with Justin's nephew until he left. After that, our friend Cheyenne came over (Happy birthday Cheyenne!!)  so I decided to go to the store and get some groceries and cook these hungry boys a good dinner, haha. We had fried tenderized meat, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and boiled squash (one of my favorites!). I was going to post a picture of this delicious meal, but they ate it ALL. So, apparently it was good! One of my favorite things to do is cook, although I don't get to do it often. I guess I just like to make people happy, through food. I love food. lol.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

Dissapointment

Well, today didn't go at all as planned. We got up at 7 (wayyy too early for a Saturday BTW) and made our way down to La Marque, and looked at a few places, but the neighborhoods were terrible!! If I'm going to be living by myself, there is no way I can live next to sketchy people I don't trust! I mean, one place even had the air conditioner stolen from the back yard! Seriously! How can you show a house to people in that condition! Ugh, anyways, so we had to up our price range a little on rent, which isn't a problem, but just frustrating that we might have to take one of the few weekends we have left in this area, which I planned on using to see my parents one more time before I left, to drive back down there and look at other houses. At least we will know what areas to look in this time, and might have a little more of a productive day.

So the lesson of the day is, if you are looking for a home for rent in the Galveston County area, DON'T go to La Marque expecting to find a decent home or neighborhood! How some people live the way that they do is beyond me. But oh well, I guess that's what separates me from them.

And that's my rant for the day. : )

Oh, and on a better note, is this not the cutest baby you have ever seen!!! Gosh, i love him!!

TGIF

Well today was an overall great Friday! I had a good day at work and am going to miss my co-workers at Harbor Healthcare System soooo much! I have made many friends there and am so glad to be a part of their growing company. My bosses were kind enough to give me a recommendation to work at the Baytown office so I don't have to start all over somewhere else and look of another job! Yay! But I am still going to miss my Harbor family :( . But who knows, I might be working there again one day since Justin and I will be living in the area when I get out of school because of his new job. If they need a Medical Technologist in the future at one of their hospitals, of course.

I am also very excited about tomorrow because we (Justin, me, and his nephew Landon)  are going to look at 3 prospective houses that I might be moving in to in 2.5 short weeks! Ahhh! I hate moving but I am ready for some new scenery and new friends. They are all in the La Marque/Bacliff area, which is about 20 minutes from school, but about 45 minutes from work, ugh. But, oh well, I will make it work. We are also extremely happy to finally have our own place again. I am just going to miss my love so much because he is going to working 4 days on/4 days off. It sucks but again, we will make it work :) . Plus, I will be so busy with school/work, hopefully it won't be too bad. And I have my sweet babies to keep me company.

You will be seeing plenty of pictures of them, by the way lol.

Oh, and hopefully we can turn tomorrow into a little road trip and do some things in the Galveston/Kemah area.

One.

Well this is my first post of my first blog..... So, I guess I will tell a little about myself. My name is Sydni Amesis Sturrock (obviously, and yes my middle name is Amesis... it's Cherokee or something).

I currently live in Beaumont, TX but as some of you may know, we (my boyfriend and I and our babies) will be moving to the Galveston area in about 3 weeks!! This is so I can go to school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in the Clinical Laboratory Science program also known as Medical Technology. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically helping doctors diagnose patients by looking at their blood, urine, and skin samples under microscopes and running tests on them in the laboratory. You can work at hospitals and blood banks, but you can also work in pharmaceutical and medical research facilities which is what I would LOVE to do. I am so ready for these next 2 years to be over so I can start working doing something I will love. They say that if you find a job doing what you love, you won't work a day in your life. I like that : )

Anyways, I don't have much of a social life, occasionally we throw parties like 2 weekends ago, if you were here, and it was a blast! But I am a work-a-holic and a school-o-holic because I am trying to get this crap over with so I can get on to the bigger things in life!! (Mostly making the big bucks!!! :) ) But, I do have a best friend, who happens to be the love of my life, and his name is Justin McNeel. We met about 3 1/2 years ago and my life hasn't been the same since. Being young and on our own, we have struggled at times but right now, everything is actually going our way for once and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! He just got a great new job and I got accepted into one of the best CLS programs in the state and we are both very happy!!!! I love him more than life itself :)

And we also have 2 other members of our family that we love with all of our hearts. First, there's Nessie.

A Siamese mix cat we adopted about 1 year ago. We actually found her on the side walk in front of Dixie Dance Hall one night last summer while leaving to go home. She was the cutest thing ever! but also had a hurt leg and, me being the animal lover that I am, couldn't leave her so we brought her into her family. Then there's Tidus, our 11 month old American Pitbull.

He is seriously the most beautiful baby pup ever ( 60+ pound baby pup lol) and I would never trade him for anything. Justin and I went and looked at him one day, but decided that maybe we should wait to get a dog. Then Justin surprised me with him a few days later last year in November and I am so glad that he did! He is the sweetest and most loving dog I have ever seen and we love him to death! It really hurts me that incredibly stupid people take this breed of dog and use it to make money and aren't a responsible pet owner and give them a bad name. And Tidus is proof of how great these dogs can be. He loves people and other animals, even a 5 pound puppy, and has never shown any aggression what so ever. He is the total opposite of this so called "dangerous breed" and it just goes to show that it's not the dog, it's the owner and how they raise their animals.

And that's The Secret Life of Syd, for now. :)
